Olaf Jäkel

Olaf Jäkel (* 1961 ) is a German Anglicist .

Life

He studied English, philosophy and education at the University of Hamburg (first and second state examinations for teaching at the upper level of general schools). From 1984 to 1985 he taught as an assistant teacher in Grimsby ; Independent German lessons (DaF) at all grades of two Comprehensive Schools: Hereford School and Western School. From 1990 to 1992 he was a DFG research fellow at the Graduate School in Cognitive Science at the University of Hamburg . From 1992 to 1998 he was a lecturer in English and linguistics at the Department of English Language and Culture at the University of Hamburg. After receiving his PhD in 1996, phil. At the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hamburg, he was trainee lawyer for the subjects English and Philosophy at the Finkenwerder High School from 1997 to 1999 . From 1998 to 2002 he was a university assistant (C1) for English / Linguistics at the Institute for English and American Studies at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . From 2002 to 2008 he taught as a junior professor for English and linguistics at the English Department of the University of Flensburg . Since 2008 he has been professor for English linguistics and didactics at the English seminar in Flensburg .
