Olaf Kortmann (born August 26, 1955 in Hamburg ) is a German volleyball coach.

Career

Olaf Kortmann actively played volleyball at Hamburger SV in his youth . He began his coaching career after completing his teacher training and acquiring a coaching license in Hamburg, where he became regional coach in 1982. In 1984 Kortmann became head coach at the women's Bundesliga club TG Rüsselsheim .

Other very successful coaching stations of Olaf Kortmann were Hamburger SV (2nd Bundesliga women) from 1986 to 1988, Hamburger SV (Bundesliga men) from 1987 to 1990, USC Münster (Bundesliga women) from 1990 to 1992 and SCC Berlin ( Bundesliga men) from 1992 to 1995. During this time he was multiple German champion and cup winner.

From 1995 to 1998 Olaf Kortmann was the national coach of the men's national team . Since 2001 he has been in charge of the beach volleyball national team Okka Rau / Stephanie Pohl , with whom he became German champion in 2002 and European champion in 2003. In 2005 he took over the national beach team Sara Goller / Laura Ludwig , with whom he achieved the triple and was German champion in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2008 this team also won the European championship. With Goller / Ludwig he also took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and in London in 2012.

Today Olaf Kortmann works in Hamburg as a consultant, trainer and coach in business and sport.
