Olaf Rakus

Olaf Rakus (born November 18, 1962 ) was a soccer player at 1. FC Magdeburg , for whom he played sporadically between 1981 and 1984 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the East German soccer association. In the following years he only played for lower-class teams, from the mid-1990s also as a player-coach.

At the age of 14, Rakus was used as a player for 1. FC Magdeburg in the youth teams of the Magdeburg district . Between 1980 and 1983 the FCM nominated him as a midfielder for the GDR junior league. Although he was never reported for the first men's team, he played five point games in the major league.

He had his first appearance in the top division of the GDR on March 14, 1981, when he was used in the last minute of the game as a center forward in the match Chemistry Böhlen - 1. FCM (2: 3) on the 17th matchday. By the end of the 1981/82 season he was also called up as a substitute in two more games. Then he had to wait three years for his next league games. On February 18, 1984, he played on the 14th day of the league against FC Carl Zeiss Jena (3: 3) his only first division game over the full playing time. For the last time he was on April 7, 1984 in the match 1. FCM - Hansa Rostock (3: 2) for 31 minutes in a league point game on the lawn.

In the 1987-88 season Raku's part of the contingent of the second division Kali Werra Tiefenort and then moved for one season to also in the second-rate DDR-Liga playing BSG Chemie Böhlen . Subsequently, Rakus no longer competed for higher-class teams, from the mid-1990s he was a player-coach at various south-west German clubs, such as B. 1997 with the Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde , 2000 with VfR Limburg , 2006 with SG Hangenmeilingen and 2008 with TSG 07 Niederzeuzheim.
