Ole Amund Gjersvik (* 10. December 1963 in Bergen (Norway) ) is a Norwegian jazz - bassist .

Ole Amund Gjersvik studied with Bjørn Ianke, Mathias Weber, Knut Erik Sundquist and Kåre Garnes; he also had lessons from Marc Johnson , Bjørn Kjellemyr and Terje Venaas . He graduated from the Music Conservatory in Bergen. Gjersvik has been working as a freelance musician since the early 1980s. a. with Bob Mintzer ( Yellowjackets ) and Mick Ronson as well as with numerous musicians from the Norwegian jazz scene, such as Dag Arnesen , Ketil Bjørnstad , Olav Dale , Karl Seglem and Kenneth Sivertsen. He has also worked as a studio musician for numerous Norwegian television shows and for artists such as Neil Sedaka , Gilbert O'Sullivan , Christer Sjøgren, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Rune Larsen and Tor Endresen .

Ole Amund Gjersvik led two of his own formations, the Ole Amund Gjersvik Quartet with Jan Kåre Hystad (saxophone, clarinet and flute), Morten Færestrand (guitar) and Stein Inge Brækhus (drums) and the tango formation Combo Tango .
