Enger made his international debut on December 15, 2001 in Lahti jumping for the Ski Jumping Continental Cup (COC). He was able to achieve COC points in the first competition and came in 29th place in the end. In the following competitions he was able to improve further. The highlight was the two fourth places in Bischofshofen and Courchevel . Due to the consistently good performance, he made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup on January 24, 2002 and was able to achieve his first World Cup points here in the first competition in Hakuba with 23rd place. However, it was the only point win in the World Cup. He continued to compete in the Continental Cup, where he regularly achieved top 10 results. In 2003 he and the Buskerud team together with Tommy Egeberg , Jan Ottar Andersen and Thomas Lobben became Norwegian champions in team jumping on the large hill. On March 12, 2004, he was again included in the squad for the World Cup in Lillehammer . However, he could not jump into the points in this or the following World Cup in Oslo and therefore ended his active ski jumping career afterwards.
