Ole Mertz
Ole Mertz (* around 1930 ; † February 15, 2017 ) was a Danish badminton player and official.
Career
Ole Mertz was runner-up in the third edition of the Thomas Cup in 1955 with the Danish men's team. In the final against Malaya he was clearly defeated in two sets in his two doubles with Ove Eilertsen . Mertz had previously won the Dutch Open in 1953, where he was successful again in 1959, 1961 and 1965. He also won the Swedish Open, Belgian International and the Swiss Open. After his active career he worked as a badminton official.
