Oleg Grigoryevich Yantschenko
Oleg Grigoryevich Jantschenko ( Russian Олег Григорьевич Янченко ; born June 18, 1939 , † January 12, 2002 ) was a Russian organist, composer and conductor.
Life
Jantschenko studied composition with Juri Schaporin , piano with Heinrich Neuhaus and organ with Leonid Rojsman at the Moscow Conservatory . In 1964 he became organist at the Minsk State Philharmonic in Belarus .
His activities in ensemble management began in 1968 with the establishment of the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. In 1984 he took over the artistic direction of the Madrigal Ensemble Moscow.
From 1990 Oleg Jantschenko was a professor of organ at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow as the successor to his teacher Roizman.
Prizes and awards
Oleg Jantschenko's numerous awards include the first prize at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1964 and a UNESCO scholarship to the Vienna and Haarlem Music Academies in 1966.
