Oleg Konstantinovich Piganowitsch ( Russian Олег Константинович Пиганович ; English transcription: Oleg Konstantinovich Piganovich * 12. May 1985 in Yaroslavl , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who last until April 2020 when HC Sibir Novosibirsk of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) was under contract and played in the position of defender .
Career
Oleg Piganowitsch began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Lokomotive Yaroslavl . After he left the club, the defender played from 2001 to 2005 for two years each for the second teams of the capital city clubs Krylja Sowetow Moscow and HK CSKA Moscow in the third-rate Pervaya League . He then played in the following two seasons for the professional teams of HK Dmitrow and Chimik Voskressensk in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division.
For the 2007/08 season Piganowitsch moved to HK tractor Chelyabinsk from the Super League , for which he was on the ice from 2008 to 2010 in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . From the beginning of the 2010/11 season until December 2011 he played for their league rivals HK Spartak Moscow and was Spartak's team captain during the 2011/12 season .
In December 2011, Piganowitsch switched to Amur Khabarovsk , for whom he subsequently played 38 KHL games. In November 2012, HK Avangard Omsk swapped Alexei Kuznetsov and Yevgeny Orlow for Piganowitsch, as the Omsk management was looking for a strong defender. After the end of the 2012/13 season Piganowitsch moved to HK Donbass Donetsk , for which he completed 60 KHL games and scored 22 points scorer. In the early summer of 2014, Donbass withdrew from the KHL game operations and Piganowitsch returned to Traktor Chelyabinsk.
After spending a season there, he moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod for the 2015/16 season . He then paused for a season, but returned in June 2017 after signing a contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . Before the 2018/19 game year , the Russian moved to league rivals HK Sibir Novosibirsk for two years .
