Alexei Igorewitsch Kuznetsov ( Russian Алексей Игоревич Кузнецов ; born February 1, 1983 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh ice hockey goalkeeper who last played for Beibarys Atyrau in the Kazakh championship .

Career

Alexei Kuznetsov began his career in 2001 in the Russian second division with Mostowik Kurgan . In 2002 he moved to Dinamo-Energija Yekaterinburg for one season . From 2003 to 2005 he played for HK Sibir Novosibirsk . In the season 2005/06 the goalkeeper of Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk was committed. He spent the next season at the Kazakh club HK Saryarka Karaganda . From 2007 to 2010 he was in goal with Barys Astana from Kazakhstan. During that time he was named the best goalkeeper in the Kazakh Championship in 2008 . In 2010 the goalkeeper switched to league rivals HK Awangard Omsk .

In November 2012, HK Awangard Kuznetsov exchanged together with Yevgeny Orlov for Oleg Piganowitsch from Amur Khabarovsk , as the club's management was looking for a strong defender. For Amur, Kuznetsov came to 19 missions in the KHL, before moving to HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk within the league in May of the following year . At HK Ugra he was under contract until the end of October 2014, before the contract was dissolved by mutual agreement due to an injury. In 2015 he signed a contract with HK Saryarka Karaganda, but moved to Beibarys Atyrau in the Kazakh championship after just one game in the Wysschaja Hockey League , which he won with the club.

International

For Kazakhstan , Kuznetsov took part in the qualification for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games . In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2009 , when he made a significant contribution to the rise of the Kazakhs in the top division with the best catch quota and the lowest goals against goals of the tournament, and in 2011 and the top division in 2010 .
