Oleg Valerjewitsch Chodkow ( Russian Олег Валерьевич додьков , born April 5, 1974 in Krasnodar ) is director of the Russian club SKIF Krasnodar and a former Russian handball player , who was mostly used on the left back .

The 1.96 m tall Oleg Chodkov started playing handball in his hometown. With SKIF Krasnodar he was third in the Super League in 1998 . In 1999 he moved to the German handball league for VfL Gummersbach , where he became the second best goal scorer behind Yoon Kyung-shin . In his two seasons he scored 156 and 153 goals. In 2001 he joined Bidasoa Irún before returning to his homeland in 2003.

In the Russian national team Chodkow made his debut in 1995. At the 1999 World Cup , he was runner-up behind Sweden. At the European Championships in 2000 he was again defeated by the Scandinavians in the final. At the 2000 Olympic Games , he won the gold medal by defeating the Swedish team. For the Olympic victory he received the Honored Master of Sports of Russia award (Заслуженный мастер спорта России). He also received the medal for outstanding service to the development of the Kuban region .

In the run-up to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Oleg Khodkov carried the Olympic torch through Krasnodar.
