Olena Mykolajiwna Tokar ( Ukrainian Олена Миколаївна Токар ; born June 21, 1987 in Novotoschkiwske , Luhansk Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian opera singer with a soprano voice . She has been a member of the Leipzig Opera ensemble since 2010 .

education

Olena Tokar studied singing at the College of Art and Culture in Luhansk (Ukraine) from 2002 to 2006 , then at the National Music Academy of Ukraine Peter Tchaikovsky in Kiev in the class of S. P. Busina and E. H. Kolosova. From 2010 she continued her studies at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig with Regina Werner-Dietrich, most recently from 2013 to her graduation in 2017 in the master class .

In 2011 she took part in the Young Singer Project at the Salzburg Festival. Master classes with Ileana Cotrubas , Christa Ludwig , Michael Schade and Alfred Brendel as well as workshops with Irwin Gage , Olaf Bär , Pjotr ​​Beczala and Matthias Goerne rounded off her training. In December 2013 she was presented by Rolando Villazón at Arte as part of the program Stars of Tomorrow .
