Olga Doppler-Alsen

Olga Doppler-Alsen , née Olga Doppler , ( February 7, 1871 in Stuttgart - after 1917) was an Austro-German theater actress .

Life

Doppler-Alsen, the daughter of the composer Karl Doppler , began her stage career in Stuttgart, where she was at first lively lovers (her first big roles were “Marie” in fire in the girls' school and “Hedwig” in Sie has discovered her heart ), but soon also played first sentimental roles and worked successfully until at least 1902.

She had never had a teacher, but rather educated herself, but carefully studied the main roles of her repertoire with General Manager Julius von Werther , who was particularly conducive to her artistic development.

The artist was invited to a guest performance at the Hofburgtheater as early as 1891, where she made her successful debut as "Rutland" ( Essex ), "Lorchen" ( both Leonors ) and "Melitta" ( Sappho ). There was no engagement, but there was a reflection on the talented actress (on the occasion of her guest appearance ) at the royal theater in Berlin ("Sulamith" in Salomi's whiteness and "Lorle" in the village and town ) and only at the request of King Karl von Württemberg became the engagement that had already been carried out was resolved and the artist was re-engaged for the Hoftheater Stuttgart under much more favorable conditions. She stayed in Stuttgart from 1895 to 1918 and was also appointed court actress there.

Doppler-Alsen was a clever actress, and she was particularly successful in those roles that required a soft, sentimental streak. Her uninhibited, naive and at the same time amiable tone demanded the greatest recognition, the naturalness of her playing often had a refreshing effect.

She was married to her colleague Harry Alsen from 1896 , the composer Árpád Doppler was her brother, the composer Franz Doppler her uncle.
