Haluzice (Hungarian Gallyas - until 1907 Haluzic ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 84 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Nové Mesto nad Váhom District of, part kraj Trenčiansky heard.
geography
The municipality is located at the southwestern end of the Považské podolie valley landscape at the foot of the White Carpathians . The Haluzický potok runs through the village and flows downstream through the up to 50 meters deep Haluzická tiesňava gorge (locally also Haluzická prierva ) into the Waag Valley . The center of the village is at an altitude of 260 m nm and is ten kilometers from Nové Mesto nad Váhom .
Neighboring municipalities are Melčice-Lieskové in the north, Ivanovce in the east, Štvrtok in the southeast and Bošáca in the west.
history
Around 1240 a Romanesque church was built not far from today's location. The parish was mentioned in 1332, but the place Haluzice only in 1392 as Halusych . In the Middle Ages and modern times, the village was part of the dominion of Beckov Castle . In 1598 Haluzice had 30 houses, 1720 vineyards and 17 taxpayers. In 1828 there were 39 houses and 277 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were the timber trade, manufacture of wood products and agriculture.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
From 1962 to 1990 Haluzice was part of the neighboring municipality Bošáca.

According to the 2011 census, there were 66 inhabitants in Haluzice, 65 of them Slovaks . 1 resident reported a different ethnic group.
31 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 10 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and 1 resident to the Pentecostal movement. 17 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 7 residents was not determined.
