Brunovce (German Brunotz , Hungarian Brunóc ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 572 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Nové Mesto nad Váhom District of, part kraj Trenčiansky heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Danube hill country on the right bank of the Waag and its canal called Biskupický derivačný kanál . The center of the village is at an altitude of 172 m nm and is ten and a half kilometers from Nové Mesto nad Váhom and Piešťany .
Neighboring communities are Potvorice in the north, Hrádok in the northeast, Lúka in the east, Horná Streda in the south, Pobedim in the southwest and Čachtice in the west.
history
Brunovce was first mentioned in writing as Barnoch in 1374 . The village belonged to large landowners such as Bercsényi , Komoró , Sándor , Mednyánszky and others, at times it was under the dominion of the nearby Tematín Castle . In 1715 eight households lived in the village, in 1720 there was a mill here. In 1828 there were 46 houses and 320 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture, partly crocheting and embroidery.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 557 inhabitants lived in Brunovce, 551 of them Slovaks , 2 Germans and 1 Magyar . 3 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
486 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and 7 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB. 41 residents were non-denominational and 23 residents had no denomination.
