Modrová (until 1927 in Slovak "Veľká Modrovka"; German Großmodro , Hungarian Nagymodró ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
The place was first mentioned in writing as Madro in 1348 and is located about 17 kilometers southeast of the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom on the edge of the Inowetz Mountains .
