Moravské Lieskové (Hungarian Morvamogyoród - until 1902 Morvalieszkó , German Mährisch-Liesko ) is a municipality in Okres Nové Mesto nad Váhom within the Trenčiansky kraj in Slovakia .
geography
The municipality is located in the wider Waag Valley on the Klanečnica River. While the place itself is still at the foot of the White Carpathians , there are several small settlements in the mountains themselves (Slov. Kopanice ), which are also located in the municipality. Moravské Lieskové is 7 km from Nové Mesto nad Váhom and 11 km from Strání in the Czech Republic and is located on the state road 54 between Nové Mesto nad Váhom and Veselí nad Moravou .
In addition to the main town Moravské Lieskové, the municipality is divided into the municipality parts Brezovec, Bučkovec and Šance (all in the mountains).
history
Moravské Lieskové was first mentioned in 1398 as Lezkow and belonged to the Beckov estate .
