Višňové (until 1927 also "Višnové" in Slovak; in Hungarian Alsóvisnyó - until 1907 Visnyó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia . It is located about 15 kilometers west of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and about 15 east of Myjava in the hill country of the Little Carpathians in the area of the Čachtické Karpaty .
The place was mentioned for the first time in history around 1392. The ruins of the Čachtice Castle are located on the adjacent hill.
