Olga Pfeifer

Olga Pfeifer (married Olga Steigerwald; born September 13, 1973 in Ajdarly) is a former German basketball player .

Life

The indoor player (1.89 meters tall), born in Ajdarly, Kazakhstan , played in the women's basketball league for Wolfenbüttel, Bochum and DJK Aschaffenburg. In the 1999/2000 season she went on strike in Aschaffenburg because of outstanding salary payments and was then given leave of absence.

In Austria she played for Almliesl Wels. In the 2000/01 season she was under contract with the French first division club Calais. In 2001 she moved to the Saint-Servais club (later name: BCSS Namur) in Belgium . Pfeifer won the national championship title and the cup competition in both Austria and Belgium.

She gave birth to two children during her basketball career. From 2003 Pfeifer played for BG Rentrop Bonn in the Bundesliga. There she played until the end of the 2003/04 season.

After the end of her competitive sports career, she remained connected to basketball and worked as a youth coach on basketball projects in Aschaffenburg and Haibach , among other things .

National team

With the German national team she took part in the European Championship finals in 1995 and 1999. In 1998 she was part of the German contingent at the world championships held in their own country. At the World Cup, the quarter-finals were only just missed. During the World Cup tournament, Pfeifer scored 5.3 points per game. Between 1993 and 2001 she was used in a total of 97 full international matches.
