Olga Vasilyevna Schtschutschkina ( Russian Ольга Васильевна Щучкина * 23. October 1980 in Syktyvkar ) is a former Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Shchuchkina first started in the World Cup in December 2002 . She took 14th place in the relay in Davos and 37th place in the sprint in Clusone . In the same month she got her first World Cup points in Linz with the 25th place in the sprint. In February 2003 she won her first Continental Cup race in the skiathlon in Valdidentro . In December 2004 she came in Davos in her only participation in the Alpine Cup to second place over 5 km classic and first place in the 10 km mass start race. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season she took part in the Eastern Europe Cup for the first time. She won the classic 10 km in Krasnogorsk . In the 2008/09 season she took two wins in the Eastern Europe Cup and came second twice. At the end of the season she was second in the overall standings. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season she won four wins at the Eastern Europe Cup in Vershina Tjoi . This was followed by second places in the sprint and over 15 km classic in Krasnogorsk. In the 2009/10 she came in the points in all stages and thus achieved 13th place in the overall standings. In January 2010 she reached her only top ten and podium finish in the World Cup with third place in the skiathlon in Rybinsk . At the season highlight, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she finished 37th in the 30 km mass start race. She finished the season in 36th place in the overall World Cup and in first place in the Eastern Europe Cup. In the following season, she took her eighth win in the Eastern Europe Cup in the sprint in Syktywkar . In addition, she came there in third place in the skiathlon and finished in 11th place in the overall standings at the end of the season. She completed her last season in 2013/14. She achieved two top ten placings, including a 10 km classic win in Syktywkar and 13th place in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup at the end of the season.
