Oli Brown (born May 23, 1989 ) is a British blues rock guitarist and singer-songwriter .

biography

In 2008 Brown released his first album Open Road on the German label Ruf Records , where his following albums were also released. The debut received good reviews.

In 2010 the second album Heads I Win Tails You Lose came out, which was counted several times among the top blues albums of the year. This year Brown made his first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival . In the same year he received a British Blues Award in the categories "Male Vocalist" and "Young Artist".

In 2011 he and his band were named "Blues Band" at the British Blues Awards and his previous album was named "Blues Album". Brown was with his band the opening act for John Mayall , who also hired him as a replacement for his failed lead guitarist Rocky Athos.

Brown's third album Here I Am was released on April 23, 2012. The band consisted of Scott Barnes (bass), Wayne Proctor (drums and percussion) and Joel White (keyboard). Dani Wilde and Paul Jones took part as guests . Here I Am reached first place in the blues charts on Amazon, HMV and iTunes. Brown was again recognized as a "Young Artist" at the British Blues Awards and was nominated as a guitarist.

On June 3, 2013, Brown performed as the opening act for Joe Satriani in Paris . On the 14th of the same month he released the live album Songs From The Road .

In 2014 Brown founded the rock trio RavenEye with bassist Aaron Spiers and drummer Kev Hickman .

Awards

In 2010 and 2012 Oli Brown received a British Blues Award in the “Young Artist” category, and in 2010 also in the “Male Vocals” category. In 2011 there were also two British Blues Awards: with his band as "Blues Band" and for his album Heads I Win Tails You Lose as "Blues Album".
