Oliver Conrad (born September 22, 1962 in New York City ) is a freelance designer and managing director of Oliver Conrad Studio and Oliver Conrad Collection .

Life

Born in New York, Oliver Conrad grew up in an architect's household. Surrounded by sophisticated design, his eye for formal aesthetics was trained early on. During his apprenticeship as a carpenter , he and his father developed house projects on Long Island / USA and then studied architecture in Düsseldorf . The love for wood as a material was formative for him: in 1990 he founded his own furniture company, in the same year his first collection came onto the market. Many designs from the OC collection, with their unmistakable, clear design language, are already classics today.

Oliver Conrad expanded his company to include a design studio in 1995. The OC-Studio team develops product design in a wide variety of areas for national and international companies, which is also supplemented by comprehensive consulting services.

Portfolio

Its product portfolio essentially includes furniture, sanitary ware, tableware, home accessories and upholstered furniture, but also exhibition stands, fittings, lights and kitchen sinks.

His customers include a. Villeroy & Boch AG, Lambert formerly Gunther Lambert , Recticel Bedding (Schweiz) AG with Swissflex and Grand Luxe by Superba, Demag Cranes & Components , Zwiesel Kristallglas AG , Sanipa and Pressalit.

Awards

The products designed by Oliver Conrad have won awards from independent institutions, such as the Red dot design award , Good Design Award (Chicago Athenaeum), Interior Innovation Award ( German Design Council ), German Design Award and Iconios del Diseno.
