Oliver Ehret

Oliver Ehret (born July 16, 1964 ) is a CDU local politician from Baden-Württemberg and was Lord Mayor of the city of Singen (Hohentwiel) from 2005 to 2013 .

Oliver Ehret was elected mayor of the city of Mühlheim an der Donau in 1994 and has been a member of the Tuttlingen district council since 1999 . Since 1999 he has also been chairman of the Donau-Heuberg community administration association . In 2005 he ran as candidate for mayor in Singen and prevailed in the second ballot with 49.7% of the votes cast against Verena Göppert, who was supported by the SPD , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and the Free Voters .

On June 30, 2013, he ran for re-election as Lord Mayor of Singen: with 49.9 percent, he received more votes than his deputy Bernd Häusler (also CDU) with 48.5 percent and as the third candidate Thomas Köstler with 1.5 Percent, but narrowly missed the necessary absolute majority. In the second ballot on July 14, Ehret lost to his challenger Häusler (50.2%) with just under 48% voter turnout with 49.8%. The mayor election in 2013 in Singen was the first municipal election with voting rights for 16 and 17 year olds in Baden-Württemberg.
