Olivia Cole

Olivia Cole (born November 26, 1942 in Memphis , Tennessee , † January 19, 2018 in San Miguel de Allende , Mexico ) was an American actress and Emmy winner.

Life

In 1977 Cole had a supporting role in the miniseries Roots , for which she received an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series. In 1979 she starred in the four-part television series White House, Back Entrance , which earned her another Emmy nomination. In 1986 she played the role of Maum Sally in Torches in the Storm , the film adaptation of the novel The Heirs of Cain by John Jakes . From 1989 to 1993 she played the judge Julie McFarlane in the hit television series LA Law . In 1995, Cole temporarily retired from the film and television business. From 2007, Cole took on individual roles again.

Cole was married to actor Richard Venture .
