Olivier Adam is a French diplomat in the service of the United Nations and since 2017 Executive Coordinator of the UN Volunteer Program (UNV) in Bonn .

education

Olivier Adam graduated from the Institut d'études politiques (Sciences-Po) in Paris with a degree in economics and finance and obtained a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées in international finance from the University of Paris-Dauphine . He then completed a master's degree in public administration at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and in economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Career

Adam began his career at the United Nations as an officer with the Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), where he worked from 1987 to 1990. In the following years he worked for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Argentina and Haiti , he was Deputy Head of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and the Commonwealth States (1993–1996) and worked for the support program for the Palestinian People (PAPP). In the following years he served in various departments of the UNDP headquarters in New York , including a. as head of the HIV / AIDS team. Then he was regional representative of UNDP in Ukraine and Slovakia . Most recently, he was Deputy Regional Director of the Office for Europe and the Commonwealth of Nations in Istanbul from 2014 to 2016 . On January 2, 2017, Olivier Adam was appointed Executive Coordinator of the UN Volunteer Program (UNV) in Bonn, which looks after around 6500 volunteers in 125 countries around the world every year.
