Olivier Battaglia

Olivier Battaglia (born March 28, 1965 ) is a Swiss politician ( LDP ).

Life

After completing training as a federal dipl. Business IT specialist , he leads projects at the Sport-Toto-Gesellschaft and then as a senior project and team leader at Systor AG. From 2003 to 2016 Battaglia was chief auditor and member of the executive board, responsible for technical audits and administration, at the financial control of the canton of Basel-Landschaft . He has been working for Coop in internal auditing since November 2016 . In 2017 he completed his Bachelor of Commers in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the University of South Africa .

During his first term of office as a local councilor in the “Education, Culture and Social Affairs” department, he played a key role in the localization of elementary schools. Ex officio, he represented the community of Bettingen in the Spitex , Benevol, Mutual Aid, as rector of the Bettinger kindergarten, as a board member of the tourist association and in the hospital commission. In the second term (2011 to 2015) he was responsible for the finance department and deputy mayor. During this time he was in charge of the municipal finances, implemented a risk management system and an IT strategy, and played a key role in the NOKE negotiations. Before joining the municipal council, he was a data protection delegate and a member of the EDP commission of the municipality of Bettingen.

On February 1, 2017, Battaglia was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt for the LDP . There he sits on the Economic and Tax Commission (WAK).

Battaglia is married and has two grown daughters.
