Olivier De Cock (born November 9, 1975 in Eeklo ) is a former Belgian football player . Mainly used as a right full-back, he was also able to play in defensive midfield as well as in central defense.
Career
Club career
After spending much of his career at Club Bruges , De Cock was loaned to the regional league team Fortuna Düsseldorf at the beginning of the 2007/08 season. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season no agreement could be reached with Bruges on a long-term transfer. In January 2009, after six months without a club, he moved to the second division club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , where he was number 31. In the summer of 2009 he was released again and was then without a club until the beginning of February 2010, before he joined the second division KV Ostend , back in his Belgian homeland . However, this only tied him until the summer of 2010; then there was a transfer to KSV Roeselare , where he was active for at least an entire year. This was followed by another change, this time to the lower class SV RW Damme .
National team career
He played eleven times for the Belgian national soccer team from 2002 to 2005 , and was called up a total of twelve times. He made his debut on October 12, 2002 in a 1-0 win over Andorra . Before that, he was already active in Belgium's U21s and was called up once in the Belgian U-18 team, in which he was not used.
Life after being a professional
In Damme, he was also active in the real estate sector during his amateur days and thus after the end of his career as a professional footballer.
Furthermore, De Cock took part in the Belgian municipal elections in 2012 for the Flemish Liberals and Democrats in Bruges , finished in 33rd place and was not elected.
