Olivier Krumbholz (born July 12, 1958 in Longeville-lès-Metz ) is a French handball trainer and former handball player .

Career

Olivier Krumbholz played for the French club Stade messin étudiants club (SMEC) from 1976 to 1986 . With SMEC he entered the Nationale 1A , the top French league at the time. In addition, he played nine international matches for the French national team .

Krumbholz coached the French women's first division ASPTT Metz between 1986 and 1995 . During this period, Metz won the French championship in 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994 and 1995, and the French Cup in 1990 and 1994. From 1992 he also coached the French national junior team. Six years later he took over the coaching position of the French women's national team . Under his leadership, France won the gold medal at the 2003 World Cup . Other achievements include the silver medals at the 1999 World Cup , in the 2009 World Championships and at the 2011 World Cup and bronze medals at the European Championships in 2002 and at the 2006 European Championships . After Krumbholz was dismissed in 2013, he took over this office again in early 2016. Since then, France has won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games , the bronze medal at the 2016 European Championships , the gold medal at the 2017 World Cup and the gold medal at the 2018 European Championship .
