Olivier Megaton (born August 6, 1965 ; born Olivier Fontana ) is a French screenwriter and film director .

Megaton began his work as a director and screenwriter in the mid-1990s with the production of several short films. He was also involved in some television series. In 2000, Exit - The Apocalypse in You, his first feature film followed. This represents the first cooperation with the director and producer Luc Besson , who was involved as an associate producer. In 2008 Megaton shot 3 for this Transporter , followed by Colombiana in 2011. In the following year he staged 96 Hours - Taken 2 and in 2014 96 Hours - Taken 3 . Besson was involved as a producer and screenwriter on these films. The graphic novel adaptation The Last Days of American Crime followed in 2020 .
