After finishing school, Enderlein began studying engineering. At the age of 27 he left his job at the engine manufacturer Archimedes and concentrated on yacht construction; In the course of his life, Enderlein managed to achieve world fame with his designs. Boats like the Hallberg-Rassy Rasmus 35 can be traced back to him, which for the first time had a central cockpit with windshield and aft cabin; other designs he designed for this company were the HR 352, HR 38, HR 382, HR 41, HR 42, HR 45 and HR 49; but also for other shipyards (e.g. NAJAD ) he designed sailing ships, for example the OE boats, which were named after his initials.
