Olschany (Ukrainian Ольшани ; Russian Ольшаны ) is a village in western Ukraine with about 160 inhabitants. It is located in Volyn Oblast .
The village belongs to the district council of Osivtsi, which also includes the villages of Osivtsi (Осівці) and Salasko (Залазько). The district capital of Kamin-Kaschyrskyj is about 8 kilometers south-east, the oblast capital Lutsk 108 kilometers south-east.
The local area was in the Russian Empire in the Minsk Governorate until 1918 and became part of the Second Polish Republic in 1921 . There it belonged in the Gmina Kamień Koszyrski to the powiat Kamień Koszyrski in the Voivodeship of Polesien and was administratively part of Olble Lackie (today Ossiwzi). As a result of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , the Soviet Union occupied the area. After the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the place was under German rule until 1944 (in the Reichskommissariat Ukraine ), then came back to the Soviet Union after the Second World War and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . The village only became independent after 1947, and since 1991 it has belonged to today's Ukraine .
