A polo tournament was held at the IV Olympic Games in London in 1908 . The venue was the exclusive Hurlingham Club in the Fulham district .
All three teams were British; two were from London and the third was an Irish selection. The two London teams met in the first game. The winner then played in the second game against the Irish selection. There was no match for the bronze medal, which is why both losing teams received the silver medal.
