The men's floor exercise competition at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin took place on the Dietrich-Eckart open-air stage from August 10th to 11th .

The Olympic champion was the Swiss Georges Mietz , ahead of his compatriot Josef Walter . Since the German Konrad Frey and Eugen Mack from Switzerland achieved the same number of points, two bronze medals were awarded.

format

The gymnasts completed a compulsory exercise and their own freestyle. The points from both exercises were added up. Furthermore, the results were included in the evaluation of the individual all-around competition . The results of the six best athletes of a nation were included in the evaluation of the team all-around competition .
