The men's 1000 meter single kayak canoe competition (short name: K1 1,000) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on August 6th and 8th, 2012 on Dorney Lake . 22 athletes took part.

The competition started with three preliminary runs. The first five canoeists each qualified for the semi-finals. In addition, there was the fastest placed sixth. The remaining canoeists were eliminated.

In the semifinals, the first four athletes qualified for final A, the rest for final B, with which positions 9 to 16 were determined.

The directly qualified canoeists are highlighted in light green, the fastest placed sixth in light blue.

At his fourth Olympic Games, the Norwegian Eirik Verås Larsen won his second gold. He won his first gold medal in this discipline in 2004. There is also a silver medal in 2008 and a bronze medal in 2004 in a two-person kayak over 1,000 meters.
