The canoe competition in one kayak 200 meters of the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was on 10 and 11 August 2012 at the Dorney Lake held. 20 athletes took part.

The competition over 200 meters is new to the Olympic program and replaces the kayak race over 500 meters. On August 10th, three preliminary runs were started. The first five canoeists each qualified for the semi-finals. In addition, there was the fastest placed sixth. The remaining canoeists were eliminated.

In the semifinals, the first four athletes qualified for final A, the rest for final B, with which positions 9 to 16 were determined.

The directly qualified canoeists are highlighted in light green, the fastest placed sixth in light blue.
