Omar Ali Saifuddin III. (* September 23, 1916 ; † September 7, 1986 in Bandar Seri Begawan ) was Sultan of Brunei from 1950 to 1967 .

Before Sir Ali Saifuddin III. succeeded his older, late brother Sir Ahmad Tajuddin as Sultan in 1950, he initially worked as a government official in various functions. From 1947 he was a member of the State Council.

During his time as Sultan he traveled to Europe several times, the last time in 1965. In 1967 he passed the rule to his son Hassanal Bolkiah .
