Omnitel was the largest Lithuanian cellular operator. Omnitel had a market share of 51% for mobile customers and 52% for mobile internet customers in Lithuania (2006).

history

Litcom was founded in 1991 by Juozas Kazickas and Viktoras Gediminas Gruodis . Litcom was the first private telecommunications company in Eastern Europe . 1995 started Omnitel was the first in Lithuania , the GSM communication and web additionally led Internet services a. Since 2001, Omnitel was one of the largest mobile communications companies in the Baltic States . In 2004, Omnitel was acquired by Teliasonera (later Telia Company ). TeliaSonera paid a total of 488.1 million euros to Omnitel. Until the end, TeliaSonera owned 100% of the Omnitel shares. In 2006, Omnitel offered UMTS services. Omnitel started offering 4G on April 28, 2011 . In May 2011 Omnitel got a new logo.

In 2017 the company merged with TEO LT to become Telia Lietuva . The company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Telia Company.
