On stage -

On Stage ( German  " On stage " ) is - according to the 2013 Self-publisher released album Live @ Psychedelic Network Festival 2012 - the second live album of the Reutlinger Space-rock / psychedelic rock band The Space Lords . It was released on February 22, 2019 via the Krefeld music label Ton Zonen Records .

Emergence

The live album was recorded at a private party called “Space Party” and in a garden the size of a park. The party was organized by Dennis Gockel, drummer for the band Knall .

The effects during the concert were created “by applying a lot of pressure to floor kicks (for the unsuspecting: effect devices)”, additional sound tracks were not added afterwards.

Cover

On a black surface, the cover shows three upright portrait photos of the musicians, which were taken during the performance at the open air "Krach am Bach" in Beelen . Marcus Schnitzler was responsible for the design and layout.

Songs

The album consists of five or six songs, which are jointly owned by The Spacelords:

  1. Spaceflowers - 13:03
  2. Metamorphosis - 12:16
  3. Nag Kanya - 17:16
  4. Plasma Thruster - 10:07
  5. Ms. Kuhnke's Kosmos - 14:27
  6. Black Hole - 20:28 (LP bonus)

reception

In the Pretty in Noise review , the album received 8.0 out of a possible 10 points and the editor noted as a short version:

"The skilful implementation of their studio albums on stage shows three musicians who perform an incredibly confident teamwork in this excellently recorded live situation."

- Holger Schilling : Pretty in Noise

On hippiesland.de , where reviews are written without point ratings , the reviewer simply summarized his text with "Strong thing!" And assessed the cooperation between the musicians very positively in the running text:

“It is also striking to hear what good musicians The Spacelords are on the live experience. The interplay seems to work blindly, the songs are supported by all of the individual instruments in their individual moods, and everyone gives their bandmates enough space to develop freely. "
