Water Planet ( German “ Wasserplanet ” ) is the third studio album by Reutlingen-based space rock / psychedelic rock band The Spacelords . It was released on October 20, 2017 via the Krefeld music label Ton Zonen Records . In addition to the digipak version, a blue splatter vinyl limited to 1,000 copies was also released .
Emergence
The recordings for the album took place in 2016 and 2017 at Far Out Studios. Marcus Schnitzler was responsible for the recording and the mix , the mastering was done by Eroc .
Cover
The completely blue cover was created by Marcus Schnitzler. In the background it shows a cutaway planet and an underwater scene in the foreground, in which, in addition to natural-looking elements, artificially created elements are placed.

In the Rock Hard review , the album received 8.0 out of 10 possible points and the editor stated:
“With“ Water Planet ”THE SPACELORDS from Reutlingen are at the forefront of the German psychedelic scene, which is still quite vital. [...] Simply impressive, with which finesse, lightheartedness and charm the trio [...] takes you here into strange worlds. "
As a personal note, the reviewer of the Belgian online magazine Dark Entries highlighted the song Plasma Thruster , as it has "a haunting killer riff" that has nestled deep in his brain and therefore makes the song his favorite track. In addition, he basically states:
"The nieuwe trip in three extra long delen is an intense psychedelic journey en a magical expedition with cosmic dimensions."

At Musikreviews.de , Thoralf Koß's album receives 10 out of 15 possible points and the result:
