On the Might of Princes was a screamo band from Long Island , New York . The band, founded in 1998, released three albums before they broke up in 2004.
Band history
On the Might of Princes was founded in 1998 by Jason Rosenthal ( guitar , vocals , melodica ), Lou Fontana (guitar, vocals), Tom Orza ( electric bass , vocals) and Chris Enriquez ( drums , piano ) in Long Island, New York . In 1999 the first album The Making of a Conversation was released on Rok Lok Records. The band then switched to Creep Records / Traffic Violation Records and released their second work Where You Are and Where You Want to Be (2001). Her last album Sirens was released in 2003 on the renowned punk label Revelation Records . A year later the band broke up.
In May 2007 and August 2008 the band played some reunion shows. Otherwise, the former band members concentrate on their new bands. Tom Orza and Chris Enriquez play at Villa Vina . Lou Fontana is on God's Gift to Woman , Small Arms Dealer and With every Idle Hour . Jason Rosenthal plays with The Brass and Vehicles and founded Procopio with Orza in 2010 .
Music genre
On the Might of Princes play screamo / post-hardcore , which is characterized by rapid changes in tempo, a predominantly technical game and introspective lyrics. The band processes music styles as diverse as Melodic Hardcore , Emo , Goth , Post-Rock , Indie-Rock and New Wave .
