The television station One Africa Television (short One Africa ) is the first and only commercially operated private television broadcaster in Namibia .

Founded in 2005 by private investors, One Africa is now a Telkom Media company from South Africa and two Namibian investor groups.

One Africa broadcasts a full program of international and locally produced shows, news and cultural programs. In addition, from November 1, 2009, there will be a cooperation with the South African broadcaster e-TV, including the delivery of programs.

At the end of 2016, One Africa had to lay off a third of its workforce due to the economic situation in Namibia.

Coverage and technology

Originally, One Africa could only be received in Windhoek , Rehoboth and Okahandja . Since 2007, however, the reception has been implemented in other parts of the country (including Outjo , Keetmanshoop ). In 2009, One Africa reached around 500,000 viewers a day in all major towns and cities in Namibia. Reception is possible via satellite as well as terrestrial via 29 transmission systems.
