One Indiana Square (formerly Indiana National Bank Tower or INB Tower for short , and Union Planters Bank ) is a skyscraper in Indianapolis in the US state of Indiana . The 36-story and 153.62-meter-high steel and glass building was completed in 1970.

One Indiana Square is located in the center of Indianapolis near Monument Circle . The building is in the southern half of the block , enclosed by New York Street to the north, Delaware Street to the east, Ohio Street to the south, and Pennsylvania Street to the west. The address is 211 North Pennsylvania Street . One block west is the Birch Bayh Federal Building and US Courthouse .

In order to be able to erect the skyscraper, the building of the Brotherhood Knights of Pythias on the planned building site was demolished in 1967 . The skyscraper was designed by architect Thomas E. Stanley and opened in 1970. It replaced the 113.46 meter high City County Building as the tallest structure in the city of Indianapolis and remained as such until the completion of the AUL Tower in 1982. The tower sits on a four-story pedestal with a colonnade that spans the entire southern part of the block occupies. The curtain wall was repeatedly damaged by strong winds. When the building had to be temporarily closed after a storm in 2006 due to facade damage, it was decided to fundamentally redesign the facade from 1991. Since the renovation, the building has been enclosed by a blue glass facade.
