One Man Army and the Undead Quartet (OMAATUQ) was a death metal band from Sweden . Their style can be described as Death Metal with Thrash Metal elements and influences.

history

OMAATUQ was founded in 2004 by Johan Lindstrand after the ex- The-Crown singer split from his band to start a solo project. To make this a reality, he got help from Valle Adzic. They began to record the six songs written by Lindstrand at the time, initially without lead / solo guitar and without bass . After a while, Valle Adzic also took over the bass. However, since he preferred to take care of his own solo project Impious , Lindstrand had to look for permanent band members again.

After a while Mikael Lagerblad joined the band and took on the role of lead guitarist, and the promotional tape When Hatred Comes to Life with a total of 6 tracks and 13 solos was recorded, but still without a rhythm guitar .

At the time of the recording, the search for a second guitarist was started. Pekka Kiviaho applied and got the post immediately. The search for a permanent drummer came to an end with Marek Dobrowolski, the band was now complete.

After the recorded demo reached several record labels, the musicians got a contract with Nuclear Blast and began working on their debut album 21st Century Killing Machine , which was finally released in January 2006.

From December 2005 the band was on a European tour as a support act with Children of Bodom and Ektomorf . From March to May 2006 they toured Germany .

In 2006 the band released their first single, Christmas For The Lobotomizer . On it is a new song, the title track of the single, and three live tracks that were recorded at Summer Breeze 2006. The single was only available through the Nuclear Blast mailorder and is limited to 500 pieces according to the label.

The second album Error in Evolution was released on March 9, 2007.

The third album, Grim Tales , was released in October 2008. Her new guitarist Matthias Bolander could be heard on the album for the first time.

On April 1, 2009, the band announced on their website that lead guitarist Mikael Lagerblad is leaving the band. At the beginning of September it was announced that a new lead guitarist was found in Jonas Blom. He won a national tender in Sweden to succeed Lagerblad. In 2011 the band played at the Circle Pit Festival in Heimersheim.

In early 2012, singer Johan Lindstrand announced that he would pause a reunion with The Crown Plane and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet for this reason. In December 2012, however, the final separation in favor of The Crown followed.
