One Manhattan Square (also known at 250 South Street or 277 Cherry Street ) is the name and address of a skyscraper under construction in Manhattan .

At the beginning of 2013, plans for the project were presented to the public for the first time. The project is being developed by Extell Development Corporation, which among other things completed the One57 and is currently (as of June 2015) building the tallest residential tower in the world, 217 West 57th Street . Initially, 250 South Street should reach a height of 213 meters and have 56 floors. It would have been the same height as the Metropolitan Life Tower built in 1909 . However, in mid-June it was announced that the tower would be 258 meters high, with 80 floors. According to current plans (as of June 2015), a total of 646 apartments are to be built. The building is located directly on the famous Manhattan Bridge and will stand out in the New York skyline for both its size and height . In addition, it should be in an area that does not have many skyscrapers.

In addition to the main tower, a smaller tower with 13 floors is also to be built. This should have affordable housing and its address is 239 Cherry Street .

Construction work officially began in early March 2015 when rebars were first placed in the ground. In September 2017, the full height in the shell was reached. Construction work on the building was completed in 2019.
