Koenigsbrück base of operations

The Koenigsbrück base of operations was a missile base for nuclear missiles of the group of the Soviet armed forces in Germany . It was located on the grounds of the Königsbrück military training area near Röhrsdorf , Bautzen district , about six kilometers northwest of Königsbrück .

It was a base for missiles of the type SS-12 , which was active from May 1984. There were 11 launch ramps, 19 launchers, 10 training missiles and 9 missile transporters. They were served by the 119th GSSD Missile Brigade . The rockets were withdrawn in 1988 and relocated to the Caucasus (Gombori / Georgia ).
