Samuel Opoku Nti (born January 23, 1961 in Kumasi ) is a former Ghanaian football player .
Career
He was one of the top Ghanaian footballers in the early to mid-1980s. He won the Africa Cup with the Ghanaian national soccer team in 1982 . He also took part as a player in the Africa Cup in 1984 and 1992. In 1992 he had to watch the games mostly from the bench, as the far less experienced Mohammed Gargo , Stanley Aboraa and Nii Lamptey were preferred to him. The African Sportswriters Association named him the best player in Africa in 1983. That was the year that Opoku Nti Asante Kotoko's team won the Africa Club Championship by beating Egypt's Al-Ahly in the final in Kumasi .
In 1984 Opoku Nti came to Switzerland ( Servette FC ). He then played at FC Aarau and FC Baden . At the end of his career he moved to FC Glarus .
