The Oppkuven (Norwegian for growth summit is) a mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Rootshorga of Sverdrupfjella it rises 3 km north of Gavlen .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939). Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it using aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (NBSAE, 1949–1952) and the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) from 1958 to 1959.
