Oras Qyiqymuly Schandossow ( Kazakh Ораз Қыйқымұлы Жандосов , Russian Ураз Кикимович Джандосов Uras Kikimowitsch Dschandossow * 20th February 1899 in Lyubov , Oblast Semiretschje, Russian Empire ; † 2. March 1938 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) was a Kazakh -sowjetischer politicians .

Life

Oras Qyiqymuly Schandossow was in 1899 in the village of Lyubov born in the Oblast Semiretschje. He attended the gymnasium for men in Werny , which he graduated in 1918. In the same year he joined the Communist Party and from the fifth congress of the Communist Party of Turkestan in September 1920 he became a member of the party's Central Committee . From 1921 to 1923 he was head of the agitation and propaganda department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkestan. As chairman of the regional executive committee of Semirechye Oblast, he signed the order to rename the city of Verny in Alma-Ata on February 5, 1921.

From 1923 to 1924 he studied at the Faculty of Economics of the Timirjazew Academy of Agriculture in Moscow. He then became head of the agitation and propaganda department of the Kazakh Regional Committee of the Communist Party. Meanwhile, he also led an expedition to the provinces of Djetyssu and Syrdarya to research the rural economy and was involved in numerous research projects. In November 1927 he was appointed People's Commissar for Education of the Kazakh ASSR . Under his supervision, the first universities were founded in what is now Kazakhstan, and he was the first rector of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute . From 1931 to 1932 he was also the first director in the history of the Kazakh National Library . From April 1924 to July 1926 he was editor of the newspaper Jengbekschi qasaq . In the 1930s Shandosov was a lecturer at the Kazakh State University .

From August 1933 to December 1934 he was secretary of the district committee of the Communist Party in Kegen Rajon near Alma-Ata and from January 1935 to June 1937 he was chairman of the Executive Committee of Alma-Ata.

In 1937, Shandossov was dismissed from his post as chairman of the regional executive committee and eventually expelled from the party. On October 13, he was arrested for membership in an anti-Soviet organization. He was later sentenced to death and shot on March 2, 1938 in Alma-Ata.

He was not rehabilitated until 1957.
