The Orión Point ( English , Spanish Punta Orión ) is a headland on the north coast of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . To the west of Canto Point, it marks the eastern limit of the entrance from the Orión Passage to Guayaquil Bay
Scientists on an Ecuadorian expedition named her in 1990 after their research vessel Orión . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2005.
