Origanum vetteri is a species of the genus Dost ( Origanum ).
features
Origanum vetteri is a perennial , bristly cushion dwarf shrub that reaches heights of up to 10 centimeters. The leaves are 2 to 5 (8) millimeters in size, broadly ovate-triangular and densely hairy. The calyx upper lip is three-toothed. The crown is pink, not bulging and 5 to 9 millimeters in size.
The flowering period is from June to July.
Occurrence
Origanum vetteri is endemic to the Greek island of Karpathos . The species colonizes rock feet and crevices at altitudes of 1000 to 1200 meters.
