The Original Alpenland Quintett was a folk music group from Tyrol in Austria . The front man was Sepp Silberberger.

Career

Founder Sepp Silberberger played in a folk band as a teenager, from which the Dorfspatzen emerged. This group often played in Westendorf . The Edelweiss Sextet from Schwoich followed . There was also a musical fusion with the Tonstein musicians. In 1974, together with Sepp Silberberger, Rudi Margreiter, Seppi Oberhofer and Peter Furtner, he founded the Alpenland Quintet, which was soon named “Original”. As is often the case with such projects, the cast changed regularly.

The Original Alpenland Quintet was one of the first popular entertainment bands to combine elements of folk music with modern sounds and instruments. It was particularly successful in Switzerland, where it was featured in the charts a few times and also received several gold records . The group played all over Europe and was featured on various popular music TV shows. Her most successful titles are Frau Meier , Is that a Sauladen here or Der Alpenrap . Unfortunately, some of them were very slippery.

In the course of their 25-year career, the band released 38 records. In 2000 they said goodbye with a double CD.

The lead singer Sepp Silberberger then toured with the trio Alpenland Sepp & Co. , who were active until 2019.
